RLUSD Supply Tracker
Ripple’s dollar stablecoin went on sale on 17 December 2024 (Ripple) and is issued on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum. On the XRP Ledger, 1.020 billion RLUSD exists right now, held by 67,589 accounts.
Holders since the first trust line
The ten largest accounts held 97% of RLUSD on the ledger in Dec 2024 and 80% now. Most of the supply sits with a few large holders, exchanges among them; the many small accounts hold the rest. Every account, ranked: RLUSD’s holders.
How the supply changes
- Issued on deposit. New RLUSD is created when a customer deposits dollars with the issuer, and destroyed when one redeems. There is no cap.
- One issuer address. On the XRP Ledger every real RLUSD is owed by rMxCKbEDwqr76QuheSUMdEGf4B9xJ8m5De; 21 other tokens use the same name.
- The issuer keeps control. It can freeze RLUSD on a line and claw it back, as regulated stablecoins usually can.
- Two chains. The figures here are the XRP Ledger’s share; how it compares with Ethereum’s: RLUSD on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum.
Questions
- What is the supply of RLUSD on the XRP Ledger?
- 1,020,243,422 RLUSD, refreshed hourly. RLUSD is also issued on Ethereum, so the total across both chains is higher.
- Does RLUSD have a maximum supply?
- No. New RLUSD is issued when customers deposit dollars with the issuer and destroyed when they redeem, so the supply follows demand.
- Which RLUSD is the real one on the XRP Ledger?
- The one issued by rMxCKbEDwqr76QuheSUMdEGf4B9xJ8m5De. Anyone can issue a token called RLUSD; every other issuer’s is a different token.
