XRP Market Cap Explained
Market cap = circulating supply x current price. For XRP, this means the number of tokens actively in circulation multiplied by the current XRP/USD price. It represents the total value of all available XRP and is the standard way to compare asset sizes across the crypto market.
XRP vs Bitcoin Market Cap
Bitcoin holds the largest market cap in crypto. XRP has historically ranked in the top five. The gap reflects differences in both price per unit and supply structure — Bitcoin caps at 21 million coins, while XRP has a maximum supply of 100 billion tokens. Comparing market caps rather than unit prices gives a far more accurate picture of relative value.
Circulating vs Fully Diluted
Circulating market cap uses only tokens in active circulation. Fully diluted assumes all 100 billion XRP exist in the market.
Ripple holds a significant portion of XRP in escrow, releasing up to 1 billion per month. Escrowed tokens are excluded from circulating supply, so circulating market cap is always lower than fully diluted.
Live Market Cap Tracking
The XRPL.to token screener displays live XRP price data updated in real time via WebSocket connections to the XRP Ledger. Track XRP alongside every XRPL-issued token, compare performance by market cap, volume, and holder count.
XRP Dominance
XRP dominance measures XRP market cap as a percentage of the total crypto market. Rising dominance means XRP is gaining market share. Dominance tends to increase during XRP-specific catalysts (adoption news, regulatory clarity) and decrease during broad altcoin rallies.
