Yes — to receive SAUSAGE you need a trustline to its issuer. XRPL.to handles this automatically when you initiate the swap. The trustline reserves 0.2 XRP, which is recoverable when removed.
Yes — XRPL.to never holds your XRP or SAUSAGE. The swap is signed in your wallet and submitted directly to the XRP Ledger. Funds move from your wallet to the order book / AMM and back to your wallet in a single atomic transaction.
